also here's an old sketch from my time on Rio. early in the story blu's caretaker was an olderlady...who sort of finds her youth in spirit as the story took everyone to brazil. these were early sketches for that take of the film. i'll post more rio stuff soon.

This was an exploration piece for my good friend trevor's personal project.

this one below was a different take on the short i've been developing. For a few weeks i ventured down this path, just to check it's validity. i liked some things about it, but i've leaned back to the original take. this is what remains :)

a painting from a cancelled project. i worked on this film a few years back for sony pictures . i'll post some more from the same project soon.

old work

this space has been slow...sloooow, but not neglected. just been busy on projects. hopefully i can share them in a few years once the films start coming out. man...animation does take a long time does'nt it?

here's some work i can share. the image below is from some development work i did on Rio. i was helping out very very early in development when the project was still being pitched back in early 2007. i'll post some more under the work section later on in the week.

Also, some of my work from Rio is part of the current exhibit at the Norman Rockwell Museum ,' the animation art of bluesky'. I feel lucky some of my work was included, in company of some real stellar folk from bluesky. 

this one is from a wonka commercial spot i helped on for Laika House, early last year. I got to work with some of the nicest folks on this, including the talented dir Nicholas Weigel. there's some more laika stuff i'll post soon...as soon as i find them :)

hello 2010

i hope everyone is looking forward to a great year ahead. all my wellwishes.

usually with a lot of work i do, i have to wait a while before being able to put them up. here's a few snaps from a project more recent, that i got clearence to put up. it's still very early in development.

Cloudy ( Updated )

A few years back i got to work on 'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs' for a short while. this was in between a phase when they were figuring out the new look for the film. i don't think any of the  designs made it to screen , but a few have trickled into the Art of Book , out now. There is some gorgeous stuff in the art book by some phenomenal talents...i am a big fan of how the film looks now! My good friend Kris Pearn was the head of story on this film...and my talented friend Warren Leonhardt worked on story as well ! i hope you will all give the film a chance when it comes out this september.

i will put up more images once the film's out next month.

Cloudy's out today..hopefully you guys will head out to the movies and catch it soon! here's a few pieces that are'nt in the artbook. i have updated the work section with some more cloudy stuff as well !
